The company has developed additional technology that adds value to the production platform, including:

  • Combinatorial biology technology that allows simplified production of multimeric protein complexes (such as monoclonal antibodies) as well as multivalent vaccine antigens and virus-like particle (VLP) preparations.

High Throughput Screening

To accelerate the development process, Neugenesis invested heavily in automation. We have developed a high throughput process based upon flow cytometry for screening thousands of transformants in a short period to identify the best clones to move forward as candidates for production strains. This technology is central to our ability to go from gene sequence to production in a small number of weeks for a wide variety of biologics.

Directed Evolution Technologies

In the multi-billion dollar biotechnology markets which include: small molecule drugs, biopharmaceuticals, agricultural and industrial enzymes, Neugenesis' platform technologies are utilized in the discovery arena to improve existing products and develop new ones.

Neugenesis has multiple, proprietary platforms to generate new DNA sequences in vivo .

  • Gene diversification based on repeated induced point (RIP) mutations and pre-meiotic recombination during the sexual cycle.
  • Gene diversification based on gene conversion and meiotic recombination (RECON) during the sexual cycle.

New protein or small molecule products produced by these platforms can be rapidly screened for commercially desirable new properties without any additional cell or molecular manipulations.

Screening of Multi-component Protein Systems

Neugenesis' fungal heterokaryon platform technology, which is utilized in its mAb expression platform, also enables generation of ordered cell culture arrays using variants of multi-component gene and/or protein systems. This allows the user to screen for new, novel combinations of biological material with commercially desirable properties.

Generation of Recombinant Cell Libraries

Neugenesis’ fungal transgenic technologies can also produce cell libraries expressing a wide range of recombinant protein products. These libraries can be rapidly screened for new protein products of commercial interest.
