Platform Technologies

Expression and Production of MAbS
Utilizing the technology embodied in US Patent 5,643,745, Neugenesis offers the only known alternative MAb expression technology to that owned by Genentech under US Patent 6,331,415.
Neugenesis has assembled all the necessary intellectual property and know-how for expression and production of commercial levels of MAbs in fungi.

Generation of New Genetic Material
Neugenesis has multiple, proprietary platforms to generate new DNA sequences in vivo.

  1. Gene diversification based on repeated induced point (RIP) mutations and pre-meiotic recombination during the sexual cycle.
  2. Gene diversification based on gene conversion and meiotic recombination (RECON) during the sexual cycle.(see Appl. Microbiol. Biothechnol (2003) 62:544-549)
  3. A third platform, complementary to these two, is under development by Neugenesis staff.

New protein or small molecule products produced by these platforms can be rapidly screened for commercially desirable new properties without any additional cell or molecular manipulations.

Screening of Multi-component Protein Systems
Neugenesis' fungal heterokaryon platform technology, which is utilized in its MAb expression platform, also enables generation of ordered cell culture arrays using variants of multi-component gene and/or protein systems. This allows the user to screen for new, novel combinations of biological material with commercially desirable properties.

Generation of Recombinant Cell Libraries
Neugenesis' fungal transgenic technologies can also produce cell libraries expressing a wide range of recombinant protein products. These libraries can be rapidly screened for new protein products of commercial interest.
All of the Neugenesis' technology platforms have applications in multiple, large and rapidly expanding markets, including human healthcare based on both small molecule and recombinant protein biotherapeutic products, genetically modified agricultural varieties, and improved and new industrial enzymes.
